Waves For Water

Pro-surfer Jon Rose started the Waves 4 Water project as a way for surfers traveling to 3rd world countries in search of great waves to give back to the communities they loved to visit. Seeing a substantial need for clean water and a viable solution for sustained access, Waves 4 Water has teamed up with Hurley International to create a DIY Volunteer Program. These “clean water couriers” bring filters along on surf trips and either connect with local non-profits or personally deliver the filters to villages in need. The program has morphed into a multi-campaign, welcoming not just surfers, but all humanitarians who share the same philosophy that clean drinking water is a basic right, one that should be afforded to everyone. The program has brought filters to Haiti, Indonesia, Bali, Pakistan, Samoa and Chile.
