The Odyssey

Documenting the epic journey of one man’s quest to pass the ultimate test of survival, grit and sheer determination, The Odyssey is the story of Karl Bushby’s trek to travel the world. His only rule: He must advance to each destination on foot, unassisted by any form of transportation. The 36,000 mile trip, starting from South America and ending back in Bushby’s home of England, began November 1, 1998. Bushby has traveled some 17,000 miles to date, traveling through Chile, Argentina, Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, across the Darien Gap, throw Panama, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Honduras, El Salvador, Guatemala, Mexico, the United States, Canada, Alaska, and crossing the Bering Straits into Russia. Fifteen years in, The Odyssey shares his struggles against nature, against unaccommodating government officials and ultimately against himself, as he makes his way through the perils and pitfalls of this test of will.
