Matt Sweeney is a musician and album maker who straddles the worlds of "big" records and "deep" music. There's too many Sweeney musical achievements to mention in any brief way, so here are some "highlights". His guitar work is featured on "big albums" albums by Johnny Cash (American V and VI), Adele (21), Neil Diamond (Home Before Dark), Kid Rock (Born Free), Dixie Chicks (Taking The Long Way), and the death metal pioneer Josh Groban (Illuminations). He produced tracks by The Black Keys, Kid Rock, and Julian Casablancas for the 2011 Buddy Holly tribute albumRave On.Sweeney's guitar compositions are featured in the movieBlue Valentine.As far as the "deep" jamz go: His transcendent songwriting collaboration with Bonnie "Prince" Billy can be heard on theSuperwolfalbum, andI Gave YouandMust Be BlindEP's.
